Loki .XMD Decryptor / Encryptor



Finally I have found some couple of hours to update my blog :) So here it is, new tool for Loki MODers or cheaters ;) Now you can decrypt edit and encrypt back .XMD files, .XMD its simple but encrypted XML file. Such files as strings.xmd and FormatedStrings.xmd ( maybe some other too) can be edited in Microsoft(R) Excel, so you can translate game texts to your native language ;)

    Heya....

    thx for posting this Decoder/Encoder....but i got a lil problem in yer usage-explanation...

    i got the -d stuff, but where do i put it? though a shortcut-binding behind the exe interval?

    E:\Games\Loki\Data\loki.xmd.exe -d GameModeConfig.xmd GameModeConfig.xml

    also path to exe could be with quotes then you need to write params behind the quotes "E:\Games\Loki\Data\loki.xmd.exe"-d GameModeConfig.xmd GameModeConfig.xml

    rudi, what is unclear?

    It's console application, you need to open cmd.exe and use it as I wrote before.

    -d key for decryption.
    -e for encryption.

    its pretty simple!

    Thank you for posting this tool. However, each time I try to type in the commands it simply shuts down/turns off the program. Does it need to be put in a specific file location?

    You forgot space "C:\loki.xmd.exe -d Inventory_item.xmd Inventory_item.xml" and XMD file should be in same dir with tool, in your case its c:\Inventory_item.xmd

    See how I used it "loki.xmd -d items.xmd items.xml" You can create .bat or .cmd file to make it a bit automatic :)

    Oh problem is in your current directory, you should go up to the root c:\ as it showed on my screen shot. Or you can copy xmd file to C:\Document and Settings\Marks> and then run it as you did.

    Hi,

    I am having a bit of trouble with my cmd prompt and was wondering if you could help.

    I am running Vista 32bit btw and it prevents me (as much as I know) from dropping directly to the c:\ directory

    It is automatically stuck at

    c:\Windows\system32

    The above image is as far as I have gotten.. i was trying to work with the MergedCompetences File to mess with xp rates and drop rates but it says it cannot open the input file.

    Any ideas?

    Same situation you should change your current directory to that where tool is located in your case it's "cd c:\Loki\Data\Competences".

    when i use (remembering that I cant drop directly to c:\ :

    C:\Windows\system32>c:\Dreamcatcher\Loki\
    Data\Competences\loki.xmd.exe -d MergedCompetences.xmd MergedCompetences.xml

    All I get is: Can't open input file.

    I thought it may becuase of the UAW that Vista uses, so I turned it off and got the same thing.

    I also got the same thing when I tried dropping loki.xmd.exe to the c:\ and the file that I wanted to edit.

    Im starting to think I' just missing someting.

    Any suggestions would be cool...If not, thanks for help so far.

    Hopefully this picture will help explain it.

    This was an attempt to edit the Characs.xmd in the character file. You can see that the .exe runs but it wont open the input at all.

    OMG, its same situation as Marks had you run tool from System32 dir not from game dir. Dont you get it tool is trying to open xmd files from System32 because you are located currently there when you run it, in that case you need to use full path to XMD files like loki.xmd.exe -d c:\dreamcatcher\loki\blablabla\file.xmd c:\dreamcatcher\loki\blablabla\file.xml

    I got it to work with your help but it will not encrypt the files when I am done..loki.xmd.exe just has an ilegal op and shuts down.

    yeah I put it in the sub directory with loki.xmd.exe and editted it...the only one I cant get to take actually is the inventory_item.xml

    It wont convert back to xmd for anything and leaves me with a blank inventory in game.

    I got it to work now, it turns into a editable xlm file. But I can't find anything usefull to edit in my Inventory_Item :( ... could you have a look:

    it looks like you are running with turned on UAC, by default UAC can't allow you to write files in root folder try to create C:\temp or run tool with administrative rights.

    C:\DOCUME~1\[USER]\LOCALS~1\Temp\DwAWSAZU.rar.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.

    I had the same problem as the post above me. I had to uninstall my virus protection then it worked fine.

    Now that I was able to decrypt the xmd to xml then I made my changes. Now the game would not make the xml into a xmd so I tried to encrypt it the same why I decrypted it.
    It didn’t work.

    Any ideas?

    Ok I solved the skill problem and I also found out that you don't need to encode the xml file back to xmd. Just delete (make a backup first) the original xmd file and leave the xml file in its place.

    Win 7 won't let me execute this under cmd even with admin privileges. ACCESS DENIED! I have full admin privilieges enabled, i run the cmd prompt as admin. nothing. Don't you just love microsoft. I've disabled UAC, verified security privileges... does my nut. All I want is epic drops in Loki !!! >.<

    Dudes, for ur "access denied" problem you have to uninstall your antivirus. I spent a lot of time on that fucking problem, trying to get ownership and permissions on loki.xmd.exe and nothing worked so I went mad and I was thinking about throwing my computer through the window. But instead I uninstalled my AVG and TADAAAAA! It worked.

    i dont have anyfile in C:\Program Files\Cyanide\Loki\Charcter but it loads fine. i unticked hide system files still no files there i used the vitality crack and im using windows 7 ....

    For all who are looking to get this download and haven't gotten the links above to work I have a link for you. After getting this link (http://www.playground.ru/files/loki_xmd_encoder_decoder-79577/) to work after MANY attempts I uploaded the original .rar and the extracted .exe/.bat to an archive.org page. https://archive.org/details/loki.xmd.rar Hope this helps future file hunters.
